About Ruby, Rails, Radiant and Rum

ArrrrCamp is the only Belgian Ruby, Rails and Radiant conference. This meeting tries to assemble everybody in Belgium (and beyond!) who has interest in, or uses, Ruby, Rails, Radiant or Rum. ArrrrCamp is a one day event, and will take place the 29th of October. It is hosted in the Zebrastraat, a beautiful location near the centre of Ghent. We aim to welcome 150 attendants this fourth edition. There will be some national and international speakers, some who are leading the Rails and Radiant development. 50 tickets were already sold through an early bird system, resulting in an international mix of attendants. For the first time it will be a whole day event. So we would like to welcome everybody at 9am and end it with a coktail at 7pm.

History

ArrrrCamp started in May 2009 as a free meet-up for all the Belgian ruby, rails and radiant users. There were a few prepared talks, but it was mainly a self hosted event where the attendees provided the talks. (Barcamp) The event took place every six months and became bigger and bigger. During the last edition we noticed that is was time to go a little bigger, people wanted to pay for the event, if there were some big speakers attending.

Goal

ArrrrCamp focusses on showcasing the strengths and possibilities of ruby, rails, radiant or derivates to interested people and organizing a meetup for ruby, rails, radiant and derivates-users.

What / Where

ArrrrCamp takes place in Ghent(Belgium) at the Zebrastraat. We have reserved a part of the conference centre, where we have 2 rooms, a bar, chairs, projector, and some internet access.
